Cornerstone exists because of Jesus. We are a people who have been transformed by the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has forgiven us and adopted us into his family. Now, we have a whole new life.
Through the gospel, God redeems us, forgives us, and adopts us into his family. The good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection makes each one of us a new creation and gives us a new identity: children of God. This is why we can never think of the church as an organization or a building. The church is actually a family—God’s family, filled with redeemed sinners that are now his children.
Through the gospel, God forgives us, adopts us into his family, and makes us his disciples. This means that the church is not just any family. We are a family formed by God—and sent out with a purpose.
The church is a family that ministers to one another, cares for one another, and builds one another up. Each member of the family is a child of God who is uniquely gifted to bless the family and to be a light in our city.
Just like a vine grows best with a good trellis, our church family grows best with good programs. Our programs and ministries are tailored to support the community and mission God has given us.
Jesus summarized our new purpose in the Great Commission, where he called his followers to make disciples of all nations. As God's family, we have a mission. The gospel makes us a family of ambassadors in our city and our world.
As ambassadors, we make disciples by sharing the gospel, teaching others about Christ, and demonstrating his love to a world that doesn't know him. This always means sharing the person and work of Jesus, and is usually accompanied by practical acts of love and compassion for those around us.
Gospel Mission means that our church family is motivated by the gospel to carry out our mission. As one local expression of God's worldwide family, Cornerstone is a community dedicated to making disciples in our city and around the world. We pursue our gospel mission in our spheres, in our city, and around the world.
We see every member of our church family as a missionary sent to their own unique spheres. Whether they are the spheres of career, friends, family, or physical neighbors, we are called to be disciple makers wherever God places us. Together, we are a family of missionaries sent to West LA.
“We see every member of our church family as a missionary sent to their own unique spheres.”
We also partner with individuals and organizations that care for others and make disciples in our city. Often the poor, marginalized, or hurting are not a part of our individual spheres. Partnering with specific organizations help us connect with hurting people in our city so we can extend the healing love of Christ.

Our mission extends across the world, which is why we partner with others to make disciples of every tribe, tongue, and nation. Our partners in Central America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa are all committed to making disciples in diverse ways. We are also committed to raising up another generation of global Christians who will continue to take the gospel of Christ to the least reached
