"It's been a dark year. But the darkness has nothing on the Light."

May 2nd, 2021

As we begin the book of 1 John, we take time this week to reflect on the reality that God is light from John's gospel.  In the midst of darkness the light of God brings hope and peace no matter what life brings.  When we meditate on God as light we come to see him in new ways that draw us deeper and deeper into fellowshp with him.

Application Questions:

  1. What does God's creation of light in the beginning teach us about his nature?

  2. What, other than God, are you tempted to cling to for security?

  3. How does the reality that God is light free you from looking for security elsewhere?

  4. What can you do this week to spend more time meditating on the beauty and love of God?
